Lily died peacefully on the 28th January 2009 at the QEH. Loving sister, mother/mother in law, auntie, nan and great nan. Lily has gone to Heaven to join her kind and loving friend Reg, who has been waiting for her for some time.
Lily Gillon was born Lilian May Dossett in Woolwich, London. Her parents, Frederick Dossett and Lilian Kenward later went on to have 5 more children - Frederick, Ruth, June, Desmond and Sheila.
When Lily grew up, she married Frank Gillon and was blessed with her 2 children, Valerie and Richard. Frank died some years later.
Several years after Frank died, Lily's good friend Reg Parker moved in as her lodger and companion. He was regarded as a surrogate Granddad by all of Lily's grandchildren and was loved dearly by them.
Lily and Reg moved to Norfolk around 1988/89 to be nearer to her son, Richard and her dear sister Sheila. Reg sadly passed away in 1998. Lily lived alone until after a few years, Sheila persuaded Lily to go and live with her and her family.
Sheila and her family doted on Lily and looked after her every need, but Lily became more frail as time went on. She was finally admitted to hospital a few days before her death and gradually went downhill. She passed away peacefully around 3am on the 28th January 2009. We believe that Reg was waiting there to guide her.
Lily always had a smile for everyone. These photos are how we remember her!
Rest in peace with the angels!

If your sorrow can be lessened,
In some warm and special way,
By knowing that so many share,
In your loss with you today.
And if it brings you comfort,
When others show they care,
Please know that thoughts are with you,
And remember they are there
